We came here for lunch on Saturday and had a wonderful experience. They have the best soup we’ve ever had! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The Meat for Two was a generous portion and perfect for sharing. A special thank you to Katarina, who was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made our visit even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back!

We held our wedding dinner at Telly’s Tavern, and everything was absolutely perfect. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. What truly made the evening special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional, making sure that both we and our guests felt welcome and well taken care of throughout the event. Thank you to the entire team for helping make such an important day in our lives so memorable. We highly recommend Telly’s Tavern for special occasions and celebrations. As many reviewers mentioned, the octopus here is really good. Overall, it’s a solid Greek restaurant. Back when I lived in the neighborhood, this place felt like my kitchen. I came here regularly. The good thing is, nothing has really changed since then.

Telly’s taverna, let me tell what I honestly think about my dining experience : I think that their prices are extremely high for the quality and the quantity they offer their customers. No side orders with their main dish , $30 for 4 pieces of fried whiting and an extra $6 for the side order. The bread was stale and the fish was over cooked , the shrimp was swimming in an insipid tomato sauce , the 3 pale lemon potatoes tasted anything but lemon, and the fried calamari came without the old good marinara sauce. The fried veggies were buried in the crumps you could hardly taste them and the epic Greek salad has lost its historic glory and taste in this place. The server was the only bright and pleasant aspect of my whole dining experience. I really hope that my review would incite the owners to improve the quality of their food and their prices if they want to sati competitive in our beloved Astoria neighborhood
